Connect your 8V Garmin to a PC and at the same time provide power from a cigarette lighter socket. You can place your GPS 4 feet from the cigarette lighter plug and your PC up to 5 feet away from the cigarette lighter plug. Other cables split the power and data cables near the GPS. We think it's better to split near the cigarette lighter plug so the cable going to the GPS will be smaller, lighter, and present less strain to the GPS plug.
