This cable connects a PC (standard RS232 serial port)to a Garmin eTrex, eMap, and geko for data transfer. You can upload and download data to your GPS including system updates, waypoints, tracks, routes, NMEA data, etc. Features ePlug , a custom 9-pin D connector, and very flexible cable. You can also supply power via pin 8! Optionally connect a P3M6F power inserting cable to supply both power and data to your Garmin. The two cables together we call The eMax! It's a combo power data cable team. Molded on ferrite bead to address EMI radio interference. 4 conductor cable with all 4 wires connected to all 4 ePlug pins with power connected to pin #8 ePlug -------color-------DB9F (1) <------ Red --------<(8) optional 3V power to Garmin (not from PC) (2) <------ White ------<(3) Tx data to Garmin from PC (3) >------ Brown ------>(2) Rx data from Garmin to PC (4) ------- Black ------ (5) Ground reference for above signals Note: A standard PC RS232 serial port does not have enough current available to power a GPS.
