Note: (12/05) All eCombo cables have not one but TWO voltage regulators inside the CLP (Cigarette Lighter Plug) housing! One is 3.3V for your eTrex and the other is 5V for a PDA or other device. The 5V is connected to pin 1 of the DB9 plug so it can be connected easily to a PDA along with the GPS data via a little adapter cable like our BA_i38. Connect your Garmin eMap and eTrex to your PC and at the same time provide power from a cigarette lighter socket. You can place your GPS 4 feet from the cigarette lighter plug and your PC up to 5 feet away from the cigarette lighter plug. Other cables split the power and data cables near the GPS. We think it's better to split near the cigarette lighter plug so the cable going to the GPS will be smaller, lighter, and present less strain to the GPS plug. 3.3 volt DC-DC switching power supply for cool power for your Garmin eTrex. 5.0 volt DC-DC switching power supply connected to pin 1 of the DB9 for cool PDA/etc. via a power/data adapter.
